How long does it take?
Lip blush procedures do take slightly longer than other treatments as the lips are more prone to swelling during the treatment. It is best to take your time and not rush this service. If this should occur swelling will quickly fade and will disappear completely within three to five days. On average the appointment will take 2-3 hours depending on technician experience.
A touch up is often required especially for beginner technicians as they are still learning correct depth for long lasting results. Touch up should be booked 6-8 weeks from the initial appointment, and you may have to touch up the whole lip or only certain areas. When booking touch up appointments, be sure to allow yourself lots of time, about 1-2 hours.
What to Expect With Lip Blushing
Clients can expect that there will be moderate swelling, redness and potentially even bruising immediately after and, sometimes lasting, up to 5 days after.
During the initial healing period, there will be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. It will almost feel as though you are wearing a dryer up liquid lip stick. If there is scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
Expect the chosen colour to lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete.
Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.
